When I arrived to Sri Lanka, one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen greeted me. Sheer proof that I had just reached one of my favorite destinations to date, before I had even gotten started on my travels through this beautiful country.
When walking through the deserted Plaza Blanca I got the vivid sense that beings from the stars had been visiting here for millennia. When I uploaded the photos to my computer I could see some of them had mysterious green lights throughout, unlike anything I had seen in my photographs before. I can share those if interested but this was my favorite of the series.

Hiking in Cajas National Park was a real treat. The landscape was so diverse I noticed a significant change every few hundred yards. Though the trails were not well marked and I got lost alone in the park, it was worth the suspense of wondering if I would find my way out before dark.

From the small town of Cassis in the French Riviera you can walk to all three of the Calanques. These beautiful bays have been carved into limestone cliffs over thousands of years, some now bordered with old stone walls.
The lotuses were in full bloom on Lake Toba. I never tired of seeing their daily ritual of opening their petals to the sun in the morning and closing them when dusk arrived.
